Hatchet found in my Grandmother’s garage. Beautiful hatchet that had the original sheath with a stamped hunting scene. (Unfortunately, the sheath was dry rotted). I cleaned the axe up and it takes a wonderful edge. This hatchet goes with me every time I’m in the woods

Nice axe!
I have an identical one that I got from my grandfather who worked in the woods all his life and I am also using it frequently now, can’t think of buying a new one when I know what it’s been through all those years… 🙂
How did you clean it to make it look so good?

1600 grit wet dry sand paper on the head and a light sanding on the handle and finished it off with some boiled linseed oil. It was already a beauty just needed a polish. Thanks!

Love this style/size of axe. Would love to see the stamped hunting image up close.
