Order Replacement Parts View Vintage HB Axes

Hults Bruk – Agdor Hatchet Pattern – Pre 1988

Trying to possibly date this axe. Was listed as a hatchet, has an 18” handle, but is a 2.5# head. Has a stamp on it named “Herker” but the second “E” is backwards. Has an 18” hatchet handle on it. Looks like it had some blue paint on it. Camera is not working well, so pics aren’t too great.

    This shape and size corresponds with the largest Agdor Hatchet (2.5lb head with 17.5″ handle). The stamp on the head with HB on one side and the weights on the other, means it was made before 1988. How much earlier is hard to say. I’m not sure what to make of the “Herkɘr” sticker. I’ve not seen that one before, Hults Bruk did sell a number of axes to private labels or other brands. This could have been one of those axes.
