This is a Agdor head that I found on my yard. Not sure when it’s from. Was rusty as hell, but I’ve polished that off. Made sure to save the stamps. Any ideas on when it’s from? Had small marks of green paint left.
For a short time between 1900 and 1910, Hults Bruk stamped axes using Circle H on the poll or back of the axe, as opposed to the cheek. The rest of the stamp reads “Agdor Hults Bruk Aby” – pretty rare to see all these old stamps together. Nice find! And good work keeping the stamps on when restoring. Obviously from the Agdor line, looks like a Maine pattern. Historically the black and red paints were used for specific markets, while green was for specific customers.
