Hults Bruk Double Bit – Pre 1988

I found this axe in a fire pit. I cleaned it up, put a new handle in it, and sharpened it up. I’ve been hooked on Hults Bruk ever since. I have no idea how old this axe is.
Thanks

The cold HB stamp puts this one before 1988, but it’s difficult to put an exact date and pattern on this one. Unfortunately, I don’t have a ton of info on the older double bit patterns. It’s not the Puget Sound style Felling axe HB made, nor does it look like the Swamping pattern. Maybe the Bucking pattern?

i love double bit axes especially the thin profile on this one and the functionality of having 2 different grinds and this one is gorgeous.

I’m usually more of a fan for single bit axes but this one might have won me over on doubles! Great restore job and nice choice on the handle.

Now, that looks like a Viking’s battle axe. Very nice.
