Introducing the highly anticipated Akka Forester’s axe, just in time for summer camping season. Inspired by customer demand for a multipurpose wilderness axe, the new Akka is a workhorse capable of limbing, chopping, fine carving and carpentry tasks.
In order to balance packability, weight and effectiveness for splitting and chopping power, we paired a lighter axe head with a long, ergonomically curved American hickory handle. The axe head features a razor sharp, flat edge profile similar to a carpenter’s axe. The finger notch near the neck of the axe makes detailed carving and precision cuts comfortable and controlled. With a total weight of 2.2 lb. the Akka packs a lot of power and versatility into a compact axe, ready for overnight wilderness trips and light forest work.
Like all Hults Bruk Premium axes, the Akka is a hardworking piece of art hand-finished to increase durability and illuminate the beauty of the natural materials, built to last for generations. Meticulous attention is paid to the finish and quality, a Hults Bruk tradition since 1697. Several stages of hand grinding, honing and stropping are performed to produce a shaving-sharp edge. American hickory handles are hand sanded and oiled with several coats of linseed to condition and protect the wood. All Hults Bruk Premium axes come with a burly, full sized leather edge protector that secures to the axe with an adjustable leather sheath that cinches tight for a secure fit.
