The head is a little loose so I will try to rehang, hopefully on the original handle. The eye still has that red plastic material so I need to slowly work that out.
Part of the Agdor line of axes, the red painted handle and blue axe head paint was used in the 1960-70s. Introduced in 1958, AGDORFIX involved permanently bonding the handles to the axe head with a red epoxy like substance. The substance would also penetrate the wood and prevent moisture. AGDORFIX was tough stuff, it often needs to be drilled and pried out before a new handle can be fitted. Looks like it’s in good condition, thanks for sharing!
