I found this as a young kid in the 90s. I’ve kept it ever since! The lug is rounded on the bottom, the top of the eye is flat as shown in the photo. Was it usual to forge them slightly differently each time? What year would this be from? I’d like to restore it.

Carpenters style axe with a nail puller, HB called this one the Packyxa (or pack axe). you can find more info on page 10 of the 1958 catalog http://hultsbruk1697.se/vintage-axes-hatchets/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/HB-Catalogue-page-131012017.pdf I think this one was discontinued shortly after in the 1960s. Given the age you’ll probably need to measure the eye of the axe to find a replacement handle – more info here: http://hultsbruk1697.se/blog/2017/01/20/how-to-replace-a-hults-bruk-axe-handle/ And yes, parts of a hand-forged axes can vary in shape from axe to axe.
