Hults Bruk – Turpentine Pattern w/ unusual poll stamp – Pre 1988
I have what I believe is a 1980’s HB axe . It has a stamp near the poll, it’s a triangle or ” Delta” Greek letter surrounded by a hash mark circle, similar to the circle around HB stamps (See photos). Could you help me identify this stamp? Was it some sort of government agency or military stamp?
How unusual! This is a Hults Bruk turpentine pattern made before 1988 and most likely after 1960. I’ve never seen the triangle poll stamp. This could have been added after production by an end user with a press and stamp. HB did make axes for the Swedish military, but those axes had a triple crown stamp which was usually placed on the cheek. HB hasn’t used poll stamps since the early 1900s. I wish I had more info, I’ll update if I can find out more info. Thanks for sharing!
You can create a new view of axes by using any of the menus below. Filter by year produced (in decades), by the type of axe or
hatchet, or by whether or not the item has been identified.
