I just cleaned and sharpened this little handy axe, which remember using a lot as a boy in late 70s and early 80s. After sharpening, I created a leather cover and also added some leather to the top of the handle to cover some minor damages.
Hello, yes you’re correct this axe was probably made between 1970-80s. In 1988 Hults Bruk stopped using the HB cold stamp. However this axe has a very large font used for the weights, which was used early 80s-1970. I believe this is the Yankee pattern, the most sold axe during that time.
