Hults Bruk – Yankee Pattern – Pre 1988

Clearing out my grandfathers garage after he passed and I came across this beautiful find. He was a firm believer that a man is only as good as his tools. After doing some research, I came to the conclusion that it’s a Yankee pre ‘88. The handle was pretty trashed so I decided to restore the Axe. I used a Hults Bruk Kalix handle.  I applied a thin layer of bees wax onto the handle even though it already had a coat of lynseed oil. (I like the way bees wax looks, feels, and smells!) I Sharpened the edge but decided to leave the old patina on the remainder of the head. Thanks Hults Bruk for making a quality piece that will remain in my family for another 3 generations.
