Hults Bruk – Yankee Pattern – Early 1900s

Hi guys , keen to find out pattern and approx year of this little hatchet head i just acquired. All edges are clean and crisp like it came off the forge yesterday so it’s had very little use . No weight is marked on head and eye size is approx 17mm wide by 48mm long . Any more info or pictures required please just mail.

Probably made sometime between 1900 and 1910, Hults Bruk stamped axes using Circle H on the poll or back of the axe, as opposed to the cheek. Prior to 1950 Hults Bruk axes were made of two separate steels. The main part of the head was made of iron and high quality edge steel was baked into the axe bit. It can be very difficult to tell if an axe was produced in this way. From 1950 to today the axe head is forged from a single piece of high-quality steel. Thanks for sharing!
