Inherited from a neighbor. Sports a new Australian hardwood handle. I had to burn the old handle wood out of the eye, these come well-made from the factory!
Best guess is this axe was made between 1960s and 1988. The HB cold stamp was discontinued in 1988 and the Tasmanian pattern started in the 1960s. I’m guessing this is a Tasmanian rather than Arvika because the axe beard has a somewhat deeper shape. Arvikas are fairly symmetrical. And thanks for the complement on the axe seating at the factory, sorry it takes a while to get the handles off.
