Hults Bruk – Yankee Pattern – Pre 1988
I am currently restoring this HB axe and hoping someone might be able to help me identify it. The eye dimensions are 55 x 21mm at the top of the eye. There is a small hole in the axe on the HB logo side. I’m not sure if this is how it was originally or if it was drilled in later? The shape of the head appears to be unusual possibly for a lot of sharpening over the years.

This is a Yankee pattern made before 1988, hard to tell how much before without more of the original markings/branding (stickers, original handle, paint etc). The hole was added after the factory perhaps to hang the axe or mount it to a vehicle, and you’re right it’s been ground and re-shaped a bit. Thanks for sharing!
