Hults Bruk – Turpentine Pattern – 1958

I was given this axe from a barn in Lier, Norway. I was visiting relatives at the “old family farm” and they had this axe in a scrap pile to be thrown away. I saw covered in rust but it had a great shape so I cleaned it up and discovered the markings! I’d love to hear about the rough age of the axe.

Agdor with the Circle H stamp and the HB, the axe was most likely was made in the 1950s. HB stopped using this stamp in 1958. The pattern is called Turpentine, which is the pattern used for many of the premium HB axes. Nice find!
