    Rare old find, thanks for sharing! This axe is over 100 years old. The HM stamp was used between 1884-1900. The shape of this hewing axe is very unusual. Doesn’t look anything the American broad and Pittsburgh styles made at the time.

    What a beautiful piece of history! I’ve been doing all of my hewing with a lowes axe because I cannot afford anything better. This sure would make quick work of the ceder and pine I’m using to build my cabin.
