Hults Bruk Montreal Pattern – Post 1988

Found in BC Canada, at trappers cabin, at Woss Lake – approximately half way up the eastern coast of Vancouver Island. Attached photo shows the head with only iron oxide removed carefully with light abrasives  Id marks appear to be LI on left and 21 on right. When was this head forged, and what can you tell?

Looks to be a Montreal/Spanish pattern head, has likely been stripped of it’s original blue paint on the butt end of the head.

That type of bit stamp with metric and imperial weights was started in the 70s. The pattern, like Beta mentioned, seems to be a modified Montreal pattern. All the different Swedish forges had some pretty big variations on the theme.

I just purchased a hults bruk today and looking at this I’m pretty sure it is a post 88 Montreal. I can’t wait to restore it to its glory. What should the original blue paint look like?
