Added March 30, 2017 to 1900s, Hewing, Pittsburgh
A gift from my grandfather. Added a new black ash handle and leather sheath. Took off surface rust and sharpened it.

Looks to be a Pittsburgh broad head hatchet but can’t match the exact eye or (lack of) lug shape to the old Hults Bruk catalogues that we have

Looks like the Pittsburgh pattern, but the lack of lugs is odd. I’m guessing this axe was made sometime between the early 1900s and late 1950s.
