I was given this axe recently and took it into the base camp in woodland I work in, it made easy work of splitting out seasoned Beech, Ash, Birch and Balsam Fir. Its good to see high quality tools like still being used.
This is a Yankee pattern axe from the Agdor line. Judging by the font used on the logo and weight stamp it was probably made sometime in the 70s. Great condition. Thanks for sharing!

I am replacing the handle on this exact same axe but I am unsure about the head orientation. Could you provide me with a close up picture of the head HB logo orientation in reference to the handle or just confirm what it is. Hence, for what I can figure it seems the HB logo is read from top to bottom of the axe.
