Hults Bruk – Yankee Pattern Axe – Pre 1988

This is the first HB I have had the pleasure of restoring. I’m wondering what the fraction stamp under the “0,8” reads and refers to. It looks like “1 0/4”.
Any other information would be appreciated but I understand that this is a cold stamped head and pre-1988 so could have been made in any year between then and 1900. Under the rust, was blue paint. I’d love to know if there is a specific type of blue used and a specific type of paint.
At first, I thought the axe’s edge had been sharpened or shaped incorrectly by whoever used it previously but realized once I got it off that it was just upside down. It would be nice to know what length of handle this axe would’ve come with as I have some cherry that I’ll use for that.
Thanks.

The cold HB stamp means this axe was made before 1988, it looks like a Yankee pattern with the blue paint from the Agdor line. The other stamp is the axe head weight 0.8kg/1.75lbs – (1 3/4).

The blue paint we use is Wede Shopprimer blue matt 5 and the top coating is Abolit clear lacquer gloss 90.

You can find some information about sizing handles here: http://hultsbruk1697.se/blog/2017/01/20/how-to-replace-a-hults-bruk-axe-handle/

    Thanks for sharing.
