Recently received this hatchet from a friend of mine. All he knows is that his father likely acquired in in the 1960’s. At some point there was apparently a small amount of blue paint on it, but that’s been sanded off. Unsure if the handle is original… appears to be made of ash.
Looks like a Yankee pattern from the Agdor line. The blue paint started in the 1960s, and the cold stamp HB maker’s mark was discontinued in 1988. Most likely the original handle was painted red. Thanks for sharing!
