Hults Bruk Swedish Axes Now Available in the U.S.
July 15, 2015
Posted in Uncategorized
For the first time in brand’s 300-year history, Hults Bruk offers exclusive range of axes in the U.S.
Åby, Sweden – (July 14, 2015) – Hults Bruk, Sweden’s largest and oldest axe manufacturer, introduces its highly acclaimed, hand-forged axes to the United States. In response to the growing demand for traditional hand tools, Hults Bruk will offer an exclusive range of axes in the U.S. market for the first time in the brand’s 300-year history. The axes are hand-forged at the Hults Bruk works in southern Sweden.
More people are turning away from modern technology and seeking age-old outdoor skills and tools for self-reliance. From first-timers searching for new outdoor experiences to seasoned wilderness enthusiasts wanting to hone their skills without the aid of modern technology, Hults Bruk axes make tasks like carving, splitting and chopping an absolute joy. Steeped in tradition but far from primitive, Hults Bruk axes are practical tools made the traditional way using natural American hickory handles and solid, hand-forged Swedish steel axe heads.
“Axes play an important role in the outdoor life,” says Gerard Pegelow, Export Director of Hults Bruk. “We are proud to bring this special, adapted range of hand-forged axes to America for the first time and look forward to serving the needs of this important market.”
The brand will introduce two lines of axes, exclusive to the U.S. market. First the Premium Series of axes are handmade works of art with meticulous attention paid to the finish and include a tanned leather axe head cover. Six axes ranging from the compact Jonaker backpacking hatchet to the impressive Motala double bit-throwing axe are all equally suited for generations of hard outdoor use or resting next to the fireplace.
Next up the Standard Series provides the same high quality, hand-forged Swedish steel heads and American hickory handles, but with a more rustic finish. These axes are superbly designed and perform to the highest level, while offering value to anyone who desires the quality of a Swedish steel axe at a competitive price.
Sport Hansa, the exclusive U.S. Hults Bruk importer and distributor, will introduce Hults Bruk during the 2015 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market this August in Salt Lake City (booth BR 317). “Our retail partners let us know their customers are continuing to show considerable interest in authentic items for the outdoors that are made by craftspeople,” said Matt Huff, Managing Director of Sport Hansa. “While materials and design have evolved over time, Hults Bruk axes are still made in the same facility and based on the same technique and heritage that started in 1697.”

About Hults Bruk
Hults Bruk has been in operation since 1697 when the company began forging steel for shipbuilding. By the 1870’s production had shifted to crafting axes for a booming forest industry. Today as Sweden’s largest axe producer and one of the world’s oldest continually operating foundries, Hults Bruk is dedicated to maintaining a tradition of quality. During the forging process high quality Swedish steel is struck several times, increasing the density and durability. For over 300-years Master Blacksmiths at Hults Bruk strive to achieve near perfection, making the brand famous throughout the world. Previously unavailable in the United States, the brand launches its line of axes exclusively available at select U.S. retail stores in 2015. Please visit www.hultsbruk1697.se for more details.
