Our axes are carefully handcrafted with a skill that is taught only through experience and time. Hults Bruk blacksmiths work in pairs shaping the raw steel in a deft merging of force, timing, and perfect cooperation.

The axe head is hand forged at the historic Hults Bruk, a forge that has been in operation since 1697. Each axe is made from high-quality Swedish axe steel, expertly tempered to hold a very sharp edge even after repeated sharpening.

The same traditional care goes into milling our solid American hickory handles into specific shapes, each adapted perfectly for a specific use. Finished axe heads are hand-fitted, meticulously inspected, and finally fitted with one of our custom leather sheaths to protect the superb cutting edge.

Hults Bruk Premium Axes
These are hardworking pieces of art, unrivalled by even the best-known brands. Meticulously hand-finished to increase durability and illuminate the beauty of the natural materials. First several stages of hand grinding are performed to produce a shaving-sharp edge. Next the American hickory handles are hand sanded and oiled with several coats of linseed to condition and protect the wood. Hults Bruk Premium Series axes come with a full-sized leather edge protector that secures to the axe with an adjustable leather lace and storage box.

Hults Bruk Agdor Axes
Agdor axes made at Hults Bruk represent dependable, affordable craftsmanship from Sweden’s oldest axe maker. The Agdor range was inspired by traditional North American axe patterns of the late 19th century. Designed to meet the demands of customers all over the world, Agdor has come to stand out as the most widespread, enduring brand of the Hults Bruk axe range for nearly 100 years. Each Agdor axe is expertly hand-forged from premium Swedish steel at the historic Hults Bruk and mounted on American hickory handles. Accompanied by a leather sheath made by Axe and Awl Leatherworks in Waynesville, N.C.
