Recently received this hatchet from a friend of mine. All he knows is that his father likely acquired in in the 1960’s. At some point there was apparently a small amount of blue paint on it, but that’s been sanded off. Unsure if the handle is original… appears to be made of ash.

I’ve got this axe that I’ve thought is an HB Aneby. But I think it’s weird that it says 850g and 1¾ lbs. 1¾ lbs is 790g which doesn’t make sense. I love my HB axe and protect it as my child. I see your blue paint still inside the makers mark. The handle is not original. I just want to know the history of this incredible good axe.

I’m not sure what pattern this axe head is but it’s a fantastic tool. The HB looks like HP from wear. The weight stamp is 1 – 2/12.
