Hults Bruk – Montreal Pattern Axe – 1900s

Here is a vintage hatchet head that was sent to me. I was told that it was made by Hults Bruk, and that it could be an older variation. Any ideas on a date range? Would this hatchet be classified as a Montreal pattern? It weighs in at 1.4 lbs and the steel quality is excellent!

I like this simple H logo, especially on this head shape. Great project, HB!

Hults Bruk axes, to me, are both crafted tools and an art form. This Montreal pattern speaks of wilderness.

I like how the edges of the pummel are polished off, similar to my hunters axe! 🙂 nice axe HB
